Kalmyk Khanate

State · 1632–1771 CE · at its largest around 1738 CE

A khanate founded by Torghut Oirat Mongols who migrated to the lower Volga steppe in the 17th century, which was later abolished by Catherine the Great after many Kalmyks returned to Dzungaria in 1771.
