Rashtrakuta Dynasty

A Deccan dynasty founded by Dantidurga, who overthrew the Chalukyas, later ruling from Manyakheta. It commissioned the rock-cut Kailasa temple at Ellora.

On its lands while it lasted

• Khajuraho temples (c. 950 CE): Hindu and Jain temples built by the Chandela dynasty, mostly between 950 and 1050, famed for their sculpture.
• Khajuraho (c. 960 CE): Capital of Chandela Kingdom (960–1311).
