Thonburi Kingdom

The Siamese kingdom founded by Taksin after the Burmese destroyed Ayutthaya, with its capital at Thonburi; it ended when Taksin was deposed and Rama I took power.

• Bangkok (1782 CE): King Rama I founded the Chakri dynasty and moved the Siamese capital to Rattanakosin Island in 1782; Bangkok is now Thailand's capital.
